WTF?

OK, if you are reading the title of this you may be asking...What the hell is this? Well, let me preface this by telling a story...

A few years ago I was sitting around a table talking to some people about the wargames we used to play and about how some of them were not as fun as they once were. This focused a bit on Warhammer 40,000 and then the conversation shifted to how some of the people who went to the tournaments took things waaaay too serious. After a couple of drinks I then said I was going to build a 40K army completly from the normally discarded sprues and bits.

The idea seemed to settle in the back of my mind and it wasn't until much later that I decided to carry on with the project. Some time ago I started collecting pieces that people gave me and even put together a tacticle squad of these "Sprue Marines". I put the porject on hold when I found out a new edition of the book was in the works and so away it went. Now...months later...it starts again.

So with this comes THE project. The idea is to do the following: Build a 1500 pt. Warhammer 40,000 army completly from discarded bits and sprue. Completly paint the army. Play it in a Rouge Trade Tournament and have fun. Also, if the opprutinity comes, take it to a Gand Tournament.

This blog will chonicle my army, post my rules for building a spruehammer army and then encourage others to take up the banner and have some fun with this bit of recycling. Remember, this is all about having fun (and maybe being a bit of a smartass in the process) so take any off handed comments with a grain of salt because I'm just as full of crap as anyone...
